On August 9, 1969, the home became the scene of the murders of Sharon Tate, Wojciech Frykowski, Abigail Folger, Jay Sebring, and Steven Parent committed by Tex Watson, Susan Atkins, and Patricia Krenwinkel, members of the Manson Family cult.
