In November 2021, a second season of Strange New Worlds was reported to be starting production in February 2022. Frequent Star Trek director Jonathan Frakes confirmed the season order a month later, before Paramount+ officially announced it in January 2022.
A prequel to Star Trek: The Original Series, the show follows the crew of the USS Enterprise under Captain Christopher Pike. Season 2 premieres in 2023 and features Spock, Una Chin-Riley, and other familiar characters.

Apr 19, 2023 · Season two will premiere Thursday, June 15 on Paramount+ in the U.S, the U.K., Australia, Latin America, Brazil, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The second season will also be available to stream on Paramount+ in South Korea, with premiere dates to be announced at a later date.
