To aid residents with their environmental needs, the Village of Oak Lawn offers yard waste disposal through Republic Services. The Village or the Village’s waste hauler (Republic Services / Allied Waste) does not collect debris generated from contractors. The contractor must haul away the debris.

Our water distribution system is highly recognized throughout the State of Illinois and provides water to neighboring communities, making the Village of Oak Lawn the 2nd largest user/supplier of Lake Michigan water.
The Village is updating its Fall Leaf Collection Program this year, with the changes intended to improve safety, help the environment and amplify choices available to Oak Parkers for managing leaves. Residents will no longer place leaves directly into the street.

Since 1994, the Fall Leaf Collection Program has been provided as a 6 to 8-week joint operation (late October to early December) between the Public Works Department and the waste hauler hired by the Village for residential refuse, recycling and compost services.
