Grossmann, a native of Neuendettelsau, Bavaria. Grossmann was sent by Pastor Wilhelm Löhe to establish a pastor training school for German immigrants.

Sep 19, 2022 · WACO, Texas- The Wartburg football team (3-0 overall) received the No. 23 spot in the first AFCA Top 25 poll for the 2022 season, the national organization announced today. This marked the first time the Knights have been ranked in this poll since the final poll of the 2019 season.

The Wartburg Knights baseball program represents Wartburg College in college baseball. The program started in 1958. The team competes in the NCAA Division III and a member of the American Rivers Conference (ARC). The team plays its home games at Harms Stadium at Hertel field in Waverly, Iowa.
