An MRI is a diagnostic test that uses a strong electromagnetic field to produce images of the human body. MRI safety testing has shown that the WATCHMAN Implant is “MRI conditional” and that WATCHMAN patients may safely have an MRI scan under certain conditions listed on the WATCHMAN Implant Card.

Feb 15, 2023 · In the PINNACLE FLX trial, the next‐generation WATCHMAN FLX device demonstrated 100% effective closure of the LAA and low rates of safety events at 2 years. The prespecified, powered key secondary end point of stroke or systemic embolism was successfully met with a low rate of additional late stroke.
We report cardiac magnetic resonance images of this device in a 57-year-old woman, 5 years post-implantation. Cine steady-state free precession imaging in the 2-chamber ( A, Online Video 1) and aortic valve (AV) view ( B, Online Video 2) demonstrate the device well seated in the LAA (arrow).
