Yancy's plans to visit his silver mine in Virginia City are abruptly changed when Mei Ling, aka Miss Mandarin, is arrested for opium smuggling. She claims she ordered firecrackers from San Francisco and someone substituted the drug en route.
If you’ve ever dismissed 1950s TV Westerns as simplistic or predictable, Yancy Derringer is the show for you. The stories are witty and inventive, and the half-hours zip by at freight train pace. Best of all, Mahoney is an absolute delight as the Rhett Butler-esque antihero.
