When Louise, a high-powered Chicago attorney (Meg Ryan), discovers that her husband Ian (Timothy Hutton) is about to leave her for another woman named Sara (Kristen Bell), she prevents him from doing so by binding him to a chair with duct tape.
The ending of “Serious Moonlight” showcases Louise’s transformation from a vulnerable and betrayed wife to a strong-willed, independent woman. After confronting Ian and Sara, Louise realizes that she deserves more than a loveless marriage.

Dec 4, 2009 · “Serious Moonlight” suggests an unholy, watered-down hybrid of “The Ref” and “Funny Games,” played as a chirpy screwball comedy, if you can imagine something so bizarre.
Warning: Spoilers. Meg Ryan and Timothy Hutton star yet again in a romantic comedy, not called French kiss but Serious moonlight. Serious moonlight has a couple of little flaws but really I didn't have much of a problem with it. Though the ending is predictable, the film still works, even for a romantic comedy.
