In the film, Buzz Lightyear and his partner Warp Darkmatter are on a mission to find three missing Little Green Men, a noosphere-dwelling race who are the scientists of Star Command's Universe Protection Unit. They discover the lost LGMs in a hidden outpost belonging to the Evil Emperor Zurg.
Developed by Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle, who would later create Kim Possible for Disney Channel, the series follows the adventures of Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear. The character first appeared as an action figure (voiced by Tim Allen) in the 1995 film Toy Story.
