Darin McKay LaHood (/ l ə ˈ h ʊ d / lə-HOOD; born July 5, 1968) is an American attorney and politician who has served as a U.S. representative from Illinois since 2015. A member of the Republican Party, LaHood has represented the 16th district since 2023, and previously represented the 18th district from 2015 to 2023.

Nov 8, 2022 · Darin LaHood (R) defeated Robert Mellon (D) on September 10, 2015, to win the special election for the U.S. House to represent Illinois' 18th Congressional District. In the primary election on July 7, 2015, Mellon defeated Adam Lopez, while LaHood defeated Mike Flynn and Donald Rients.
