Many islanders take the bus into work or to local sporting events by parking at Mercer Island’s Park-and-Ride. The Mercer Island Light Rail stationis targeted to open in 2023. The station is being constructed at the north edge of Town Center at 77th Avenue SE and 80th Avenue SE (in close proximity to the existing Park-and-Ride).
Aubrey Davis Park(Park on the Lid) borders the north end of Town Center, featuring smooth-paved walking paths and a sculpture garden. To the south of Town Center, you’ll find Mercerdale Parkcomplete with a playground, skate park, pavilion, exercise equipment, and a circular walking path.

Dec 18, 2023 · Kitchen & Market, a local grocery store and prepared-meal provider, opens Saturday, Oct. 15, on Mercer Island. Kitchen & Market, which also has been in Pike Place Market since 2021, is a small grocery that specializes in freshly prepared foods, chef-driven meal kits, private label products and locally sourced goods.
