Archibald Philip Primrose, 5th Earl of Rosebery (7 May 1847 – 21 May 1929) was a British Liberal politician and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, also known as Archibald Primrose (1847–1851), Lord Dalmeny (1851–1868).
Rosebery was responsible for the signing of the Anglo-Belgian Treaty that leased land in the Upper Nile to the King of the Belgians. Rosebery opposed the 'Little England' political group, believing that Britain should be more involved in world affairs.
