To ensure application integrity, recommenders can only create an account after a student adds and assigns them within the application. Once a student completes that process, you will receive an email from Common App. The email will include instructions on how to access your recommender account.

Common App is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to access, equity, and integrity in the college admission process. Each year, more than 1 million students, a third of whom are first-generation, apply to more than 1,000 colleges and universities worldwide through Common App’s online application.
To check the status of the items your assigned recommenders have submitted, please view your Common Application dashboard (click ‘Status’ then ‘Recommenders and FERPA’).

Practice accounts allow you to access the first-year student application experience. It’s an account type for people who want to peruse the application, but not apply to college. Everything will be the same as a regular student account, except you cannot submit college applications.
