Tootoosis appeared in the CBC Television mini-series By Way of the Stars with Eric Schweig as Black Thunder and Tantoo Cardinal as Franoise. He appeared in the award-winning movie Legends of the Fall (1994), and starred with Russell Means in Disney 's Pocahontas (1995) and Song of Hiawatha (1997).

Gordon Tootoosis Nikaniwin Theatre (GTNT, formerly Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company) is an award-winning, professional Indigenous theatre company and registered charity based in Saskatoon that has been operating since 1999.
Gordon Tootoosis Nīkānīwin Theatre (GTNT), La Troupe du Jour (LTDJ), and Never Never Shakespeare (NNS) will be presenting LEAR, a trilingual play, co-directed by Jennifer Dawn Bishop of GTNT and Bob Wicks of NNS, in Saskatoon.
Our new name, Gordon Tootoosis Nīkānīwin Theatre, honours Gordon Tootoosis, a Cree and Canadian icon and one of the founding members of SNTC.
