The Route of the Volcanoes is the most popular bus tour in Timanfaya National Park. Travel by bus (or guagua, as the Canarians say) and enjoy striking views of the park’s volcanic landscape. The tour departs from the Islet Hilario Visitor Center every 15 minutes and goes past volcanic craters, lava fields, and mountains covered in volcanic ash.

May 14, 2019 · Touring Timanfaya National Park. To protect the environment there is no access to Timanfaya beyond the visitor centre other than by National Park operated coach. The 30-40 minute bus tour through the lava fields (Ruta de los Volcanes) is included in your entrance ticket.
Following the LZ-67 road you can easily reach Timanfaya by following the road signs. Once in the park, you will have to get to the car park, which is well signposted at the entrance. Once there, you can start the usual route to Timanfaya by bus, or rather, by guagua.
Unfortunately the local bus does not arrive until Timanfaya and the nearest bus stop are too far from the park. If you do not want to hire a car, you can book a trip with a agency.There are several trips that includes Timanfaya.
You need a ticket to access the park by rental car or bus tour to enter the National Park. There is no public bus available. From the entrance to the "Islote de Hilario", the visitor area and restaurant, it is another 5 minutes drive.
