Emmett Lathrop Brown, Ph.D., commonly referred to as " Doc Brown " or " Doctor Emmet Brown ", is a fictional scientist in the Back to the Future franchise. In Back to the Future, he introduces his friend Marty McFly to the DeLorean time machine that he invented using a DMC DeLorean.
