Louis I de Bourbon, prince de Condé (born May 7, 1530, Vendôme, France—died March 13, 1569, Jarnac) was a military leader of the Huguenots in the first decade of France’s Wars of Religion. He was the leading adult prince of the French blood royal on the Huguenot side (apart from the king of Navarre).
Louis, the first Prince, actually gave the Condé property to his youngest son, Charles (1566–1612), Count of Soissons. Charles' only son Louis (1604–1641) left Condé and Soissons to female heirs in 1624, who married into the Savoy and Orléans-Longueville dynasties.
