About. Riverside Cemetery is a privately owned nondenominational cemetery dating back to 1854. The entrance to Riverside Cemetery is located at the corner of Riverside St. and Summer St. in Lewiston, ME. The cemetery grounds are open to vehicles between sunrise and sunset during months without frost (generally April-November).

Riverside Cemetery was incorporated in 1855, after a group of city leaders purchased land from the Maine State Seminary – a school which would later become Bates College. The property included the already-established Greenwood Cemetery, which had been in use since the 1830s.
