- Elvis’ Childhood Home. When Elvis and his family moved to Memphis, they set up home in this apartment, which is still standing today. Moderate housing it might have been, but it was a palace compared to Elvis’ family home in Tupelo.
- Lansky’s Tailor at the Peabody Hotel. Lansky Bros. is a Memphis staple. Since 1946 they have created luxurious threads for the cream of Memphis society. They have now moved a couple blocks from the original location to the Peabody Hotel, where you can visit – and shop.
- Sun Studio. This is where Elvis’ first ever recording was released back in 1954. While not the easiest place to get to compared to some of the Elvis Presley Memphis sights, it’s worth it to get an up close look at where Elvis worked so hard to achieve his fame.
- Overton Park. If you can believe there was once a time when the name Elvis was not known at all. That all changed one hot July day in 1954 when a young Elvis took to the stage of a Hillbilly Hoedown at the Overton Park amphitheater.
Though Elvis never forgot his Mississippi roots, he grew and established himself in Memphis. There are so many places where you can spot Elvis that it isn’t hard to spend a few days walking in Memphis following his footsteps. So, grab you camera and grow your sideburns out.

- Graceland Mansion. No trip to Memphis would be complete without a visit to Elvis’s home, Graceland Mansion. The property is still decorated just as it was when the King passed away in 1977, with shag carpeting, ornate furniture, and Elvis’s personal belongings.
- Tigerman Karate Dojo And Museum. The influence of karate can be seen in much of the King’s choreography. Elvis discovered karate when he joined the army and continued to practice with his teacher, Khang Rhee, at the Tigerman Karate Dojo and Museum in the 1970s.
- Lansky Brothers. Elvis was as stylish as he was talented. There was a time when it seemed every teenager in the world wanted to dress like him. His look was carefully curated with help from the family-owned clothier, Lanksy Brothers.
- Memphis Music Hall Of Fame. If Elvis was the only musician from Memphis, the city would have secured its place in musical history. In reality, the volume of talent that came out of Memphis is astounding.
