Günther Beckstein ist ein deutscher Politiker und Lobbyist. Dem Bayerischen Landtag gehörte er von 1974 bis 2013 an. Von 1993 bis 2007 war er bayerischer Staatsminister des Innern und von 2007 bis 2008 bayerischer Ministerpräsident. Er war der erste evangelische Ministerpräsident des Freistaats Bayern nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg.
