Overview. The High Tatras (Slovak: Vysoké Tatry, Polish Tatry Wysokie, German Hohe Tatra, Hungarian Magas-Tátra) is the smallest big mountain range in Europe. They are situated on the border between Slovakia and Poland, although majority of the peaks and valleys lie in Slovakia.
