Dec 16, 2021 · How to get to Winthrop. There are a couple of ways to get to Winthrop from the greater Seattle area. You can head up I-5 to Burlington and then take the North Cascades Highway to Winthrop. The North Cascades Highway is closed in winter, typically sometime in November through late May. This route is 190 miles and takes about 4 hours.
