    You is an American psychological thriller-crime drama developed by Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble. The series based on Caroline Kepnes’ bestselling books You and Hidden Bodies. The series follows a dangerously charming, intensely obsessive young man who goes to extreme measures to insert himself into the lives of those he is transfixed by.

    The series initially premiered on Lifetime on September 9, 2018, but with positive reviews, moved to Netflix as a Netflix Original shortly after.

    On July 26, 2018, it was announced that Lifetime renewed the series for a second season ahead of the series premiere. The second season is based on Caroline Kepnes bestselling novel will be based on her follow-up novel Hidden Bodies In December, it was announced that the series would move to Netflix as a Netflix Original. It was released on Netflix on December 26, 2019.

    On January 14, 2020, it was announced that Netflix ordered a 10-episode third season of the series. It was released on October 15, 2021. On October 13, 2021, Netflix announced that the series was renewed for a fourth season. The renewal came ahead of the third season release. The fourth season was split up into two parts which were scheduled for release on February 9th and March 9th, respectively.

    The first season follows the story of Joe Goldberg, a bookstore manager in New York, who upon meeting Guinevere Beck, an aspiring writer, becomes infatuated with her. He feeds his toxic obsession using social media and other technology to track her presence and remove obstacles to their romance.

    In the second season, Joe Goldberg moves from New York to Los Angeles to escape his past, and starts over with a new identity. When he meets avid chef Love Quinn, Joe begins falling into his old patterns of obsession and violence. As Joe attempts to forge a new love in the City of Angels, he strives to make his relationship with Love succeed at all costs, to avoid the fate of his past romantic endeavors.

    In third season, Joe and Love, now married and raising their baby, have moved to the balmy Northern California enclave of Madre Linda, where they’re surrounded by privileged tech entrepreneurs, judgmental mommy bloggers and Insta-famous biohackers. Joe is committed to his new role as a husband and dad, but fears Love’s lethal impulsiveness. And then there’s his heart. Could the woman he’s been searching for all this time live right next door? Breaking out of a cage in a basement is one thing. But the prison of a picture-perfect marriage to a woman who’s wise to your tricks? Well, that’ll prove a much more complicated escape.
