Sep 27, 2020 · The 5 most gruesome Cannibal Corpse songs. By Metal Hammer. last updated 27 September 2020. These are the nastiest and most gore-filled songs in Cannibal Corpse's arsenal. Even if you’re not a death metal fan, you know the name Cannibal Corpse – they appeared in Ace Ventura for crying out loud!
- “Hammer Smashed Face” – Tomb Of The Mutilated. Of course, we have to start with the classic that helped launch Cannibal Corpse into the metal limelight.
- “I Cum Blood” – Tomb Of The Mutilated. Another iconic song in Cannibal Corpse’s catalog is also from Tomb Of The Mutilated: “I Cum Blood.” While many Cannibal Corpse songs feature an array of graphic and disturbing imagery, “I Cum Blood” takes the cake for one of the vilest songs the band has ever crafted.
- “The Bleeding” – The Bleeding. There’s an awesome duality to “The Bleeding” – it exudes a tremendous weight of metallic crunch, but also provides a riveting sense of groove throughout.
- “Sentenced to Burn” – Gallery of Suicide. Similar to “The Bleeding” but with a slightly different sonic spin, “Sentence to Burn” doubles down on metallic crunch to create a pulse-pounding rush of riffs.
- "Hammer Smashed Face" Yes, it's the tune that featured in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, quite possibly the most high-profile plug death metal has ever gotten.
- "Scourge of Iron" That RIFF! More than a few voters pointed to the axe-swinging guitar part at the center of "Scourge of Iron," which is so goddamn meaty, stinkface-inducing and skull-splittingly heavy that it rocketed "Scourge of Iron" to No. 2 on this list.
- "The Bleeding" It was cool to see a non-obvious pick come in at No. 3, especially one of the less-often celebrated cuts from The Bleeding. The huge, Slayer-like leads on this make for an epic entrance, and from there the band drizzle in plenty of nasty licks, heavy rhythms and hideous vocals that make "The Bleeding" a quintessential Cannibal Corpse banger.
- "Stripped, Raped and Strangled" Cannibal Corpse's 1994 album, The Bleeding, was their last with OG vocalist Chris Barnes, and while it remains one of their most commercially successful LPs, it's also insanely brutal.
- Hammer Smashed Face. This song is an extreme example of what happens when you’ve been beaten down all your life. The lyrics describe someone going after the person who made their life a living nightmare and beat them to death.
- Inhumane Harvest. This is the first single from the group’s fifteenth album, Violence Unimagined. The lyrics are about organ harvesting especially gaining vital organs illegally.
- Scourge of Iron. At first, listen, this song sounds like an oddity in the group’s catalog. After all, much of Cannibal Corpse’s catalog is about people rewarded for doing socially unacceptable things.
- Staring Through The Eyes of the Dead. This song is another twist on the death song. The lyrics describe an autopsy on someone who can’t move but is somewhere between this life and the one that follows and can see everything happening as the coroner tries to determine the cause of death.
