That's my summary of Under the Dome. TLDR : The dome is there to protect and infest the living beings inside by aliens known as the kinship. Stuff happens, dome comes down, happy ending (with a slight cliff hanger).
In Stephen King’s expansive novel Under the Dome, he investigates what happens when a town is cut off from the larger world, held captive not only by the mysterious Dome but also by the designs of a few power-hungry citizens.
