Selangor's forestry headquarters is located at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Building, in Shah Alam. Selangor is also home to a statutory agency of the Government of Malaysia, the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM).

Situated on the west coast of the Peninsular, Selangor is bordered by Perak, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan and the Straits of Malacca. Covering an area of 8,000 sq. km, it completely surrounds the capital Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya. Main entry points into Malaysia via Selangor by air are the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and KLIA2.
Selangor, also known by its Arabic honorific Darul Ehsan, or "Abode of Sincerity", is one of the 13 states of Malaysia. It is on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia and is bordered by Perak to the north, Pahang to the east, Negeri Sembilan to the south, and the Strait of Malacca to the west.
