Miriam (מִרְיָם Mir-yām) was born in 1576 B.C. and is the daughter of Amram and Jochebed, and the sister of Moses and Aaron. She was described as a prophetess, and, in fact, is one of the seven major female prophets in the Bible. (The other Prophetess’ are: Sarah, Deborah, Hannah, Abigail, and Estherand Huldah).

Miriam (Hebrew: מִרְיָם Mīryām, lit. 'Rebellion') is described in the Hebrew Bible as the daughter of Amram and Jochebed, and the older sister of Moses and Aaron. She was a prophetess and first appears in the Book of Exodus.
