Yudhishthira ( Sanskrit: युधिष्ठिर, IAST: Yudhiṣṭhira) also known as Dharmaraja, was the king of Indraprastha (Current Delhi) and later the Kuru Kingdom in ancient Indian History and the eldest among the five Pandava brothers, he is also one of the central figures of the ancient Hindu epic Mahabharata. The word Pandava ( Sanskrit: पाण्डवा, IAST: Pāṇḍavā) is derived from Pandu ( Sanskrit: पाण्डु, IAST: Pāṇḍu) and means "descendants of Pandu". Other epithets given to the Pandavas are: [2] Kaunteya (Sanskrit: कौन्तेय) – sons of Kunti ( Yudhishthira, Bhima, Arjuna ).
Yudhishthira has been proposed as the last Alchon Hun ruler of Kashmir, according to a reconstruction made by Atreyi Biswas. The tentative identification has been made from the lists of Huna kings given in the Puranas and the Rajatarangini.
