In John 17:5, just before His crucifixion, Jesus prays, “And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.”. Also see John 1:1–2, 14. Upon coming to earth, Jesus was born in Bethlehem.

Jesus certainly made this otherwise unimportant village highly significant. “He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read” ( Luke 4:16 ).
