In the centre of the square is the Caval 'd brons, a statue of Emmanuel Philibert, Duke of Savoy on horseback, which was designed Carlo Marochetti in 1838. The two imposing churches of Santa Cristina and San Carlo Borromeo are at the southern part of the square.
