The Baylands Nature Preserve can be best enjoyed from within the car, with the windows tightly closed, and without staying very long. Is there a sewage treatment next to it, or does it just smell like that? Honestly, we made the mistake of getting out of the car, and taking a few steps, before lunging back in. An excellent loop for jogging, walking, or bird watching. The Palo Alto Baylands is home to the elusive California Clapperrail. This is a great loop for the entire family.
