Innocent died on March 31, 1879. He was buried on April 5, 1879, at Troitse-Sergiyeva Lavra. Glorification. On October 6, 1977, the Church of Russia, acting on the official request of the Orthodox Church in America, proclaimed Innocent a saint. His feast day is celebrated twice a year -- on October 6 and March 31.
