    Courtney grew up in California and is the daughter of a single working mother, Barbara Whitmore. Her father was in and out of her life after she was born, and they only met a handful of times. In 2010, father, Sam Kurtis, mysteriously left their lives after missing Christmas Eve. Courtney preserved and became a gymnast and joined martial arts, where she learned incredible fighting skills.
