Keith's broken leg causes him to lose his million dollar football contract. As a result, Thelma and Keith must live in the Evanses' apartment. And J.J. is faced with a dilemma when Sweet Daddy Williams comes to collect on his loan.
After a joyous wedding ceremony, things are anything but happy. Thelma and Keith cannot go on a honeymoon because Keith's leg is broken and it may end his sports career. Also, the loan sharks come to visit JJ to get their money back.
In the concluding episode of Good Times' three-part sixth season opener, Keith Anderson (Ben Powers), the new husband of Thelma Evans (BernNadette Stanis), has broken his knee just after the wedding ceremony. Before the disaster occurred, Heisman-winning football player Keith was on the verge of signing a huge contract with the Chicago Bears. But now his pro football career is over before it begins, and Keith is stuck in the ghetto with the Evans family. Worse yet: Local loan shark Sweet Daddy (Teddy Wilson) demands payment on the loan taken out by Thelma's brother J.J. (Jimmie Walker) to finance the wedding
