The Lobau ( German pronunciation: [loˈbaʊ̯] ⓘ) is a Vienna floodplain on the northern side of the Danube in Donaustadt and partly in Großenzersdorf, Lower Austria. It has been part of the Danube-Auen National Park since 1996 and has been a protected area since 1978. It is used as a recreational area and is known as a site of nudism. [2]

How to get there: the Lobau is 13km from the city center, so a 20–30 min drive from Vienna, depending on traffic. The buses 93A and 92B will leave you at different entrances of the park (depending where you need to get to). You can even reach the Lobau by boat from the Donaukanal, by booking ahead here.
