With the ImageMap extension, you can make an entire image serve as a link to a different article, specify a particular area within the image, or you can select multiple areas within that image to link to different articles.

This can be done in two ways: Using the | link = option with the [ [File:...]] syntax. Using the <imagemap>...</imagemap> syntax, provided by the ImageMap extension. The |link= syntax is easier to use and can create simple images that the imagemap syntax cannot, but it can only be used with plain pictures; it cannot be used with thumb images.
