Division of the Quran into 30 parts of varying lengths, but more uniform than that into surahs; used to facilitate recitation during Ramadan
A juzʼ is one of thirty parts of varying lengths into which the Quran is divided. It is also known as parah in Iran and subsequently the Indian subcontinent. There are 30 ajzāʼ in the Quran, also known as – sipārah (in Persian si means 30) (thirty parts). Division into ajzāʼ has no relevance to the meaning of the Qurʼān and anyone can start reading from anywhere in the Qurʼān. Wikipedia
