Mengu-Timur or Möngke Temür (Mongolian: ᠮᠦᠨᠺᠬᠲᠡᠮᠦᠷ, Мөнхтөмөр) (?–1280), Son of Toqoqan Khan and Buka Ujin of Oirat and the grandson of Batu Khan. He was a khan of the Golden Horde, a division of the Mongol Empire in 1266–1280.

Family relationships I have a source, Cambridge Illustrated History of Medieval Europe, 1250-1520, p. 298, which says that Mangu Timur was a brother of Abaqa Khan. However, according to the information that is currently in this article, Mangu was more of a cousin. Do we have any other sources which can verify the relationship?
The very first yarlyk (license) found by historians was written on behalf of Mengu - Timur and contained information on the release of the Russian Orthodox Church from paying tribute to the Golden Horde, however, he was a shamanist. During the reign of Mengu - Timur, the Genoese traders purchased Caffa from the Mongols.
Career. In 1388, the Hongwu Emperor established contact with three tribes of the Jianzhou Jurchens, the Odoli, Huligai and Tuowen and attempted to enlist them as allies against the Mongols.
Tokhta (Toqta, Tokhtai, Tochtu or Tokhtogha) (died c. 1312) was a khan of the Golden Horde, son of Mengu-Timur and great grandson of Batu Khan. His name "Tokhtokh" means "hold/holding" in the Mongolian language .

As Berke sought to cross the Kura river to attack Hulagu's son, Abaqa Khan, he fell ill and died sometime between 1266 and 1267. He was succeeded by his grandnephew, Mengu-Timur. The policy of alliance with the Mamluks, and containment of the Ilkhanate, was continued by Mengu-Timur.
