Valladolid (Spanish: [baʎaðoˈlið] ⓘ) is a municipality in Spain and the primary seat of government and de facto capital of the autonomous community of Castile and León. It is also the capital of the province of Valladolid. It has a population of 295,639 people (2022 est.).

- National Sculpture Museum. This attraction has a fine collection of sculpture and art from the late-middle ages to the 1800s, but the museum building is itself a work of art too.
- Palacio de Santa Cruz. Part of the university is this free attraction that is also loved as much for its beautiful architecture as for what you can see inside.
- Iglesia de San Pablo. This church’s carved facade stops most visitors in their tracks – it’s that beautiful. It was completed in 1500 by Simón de Colonia, who was also the master builder of Burgos Cathedral.
- Santa María la Antigua Church. The solemn romanesque bell tower of this 12th-century church is one of Valladolid’s most famous images, and is best admired from a bench on Portugalete Square.
- Cool off in Valladolid’s Cenotes. A cenote is basically a swimming hole carved into limestone bedrock by spring water. They look like something from the Indiana Jones movies!
- Marvel at Mayan Art at Casa de los Venados. It’s not a museum, but actually, a large house that the owners open up to the public for tours at 10 am everyday.
- Witness The Nightly Traditional Dance Performance. Walk through Valladolid’s main square, Parque Francisco Canton, around 5:30 PM and you’ll usually find traditional Mayan dancers or a colorful troupe showing off Jarana, a traditional dance in the Yucatan.
- Visit Chichen Itza. Taking a trip to see Chichen Itza is easily one of the most popular things to do in Valladolid, Mexico. And it’s no wonder why: after all, this incredible complex of Mayan ruins has been named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World!

Valladolid. Once known as the Sultana of the East, Yucatán’s third-largest city is famed for its quiet streets and sun-splashed pastel walls.
