Some of my points on why I prefer one or the other: Donghua is still closer to canon, both with events and characterizations. Wangxian is much more closer to the original one, with the slow burn and the couples general behaviour. CQL made me feel like they got together during Cloud Recess studying time.

Edit: Also, and one reason I also disliked the donghua ending personally, was that for me the biggest "point" of JC's ending in the novel, besides the fact he finally is at a point where he can finally start letting go, is his unerring support of Jin Ling.
