Żelazowa Wola (Polish pronunciation: [ʐɛlaˈzɔva ˈvɔla]) is a village in Gmina Sochaczew, Sochaczew County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. It lies on the Utrata River, some 8 kilometres (5 mi) northeast of Sochaczew and 46 km (29 mi) west of Warsaw. The name means "Iron will" in Polish.
The Birthplace of Frédéric Chopin is a "dworek" (lit. little manor-house – in fact eastern outbuilding of non-existing mansion) surrounded by a large (over 17 acres) natural park at the banks of Utrata River in Żelazowa Wola near Sochaczew in Poland – presently museum of the composer, department of the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw .
The brilliant musician was born on 22 nd February or 1 st March 1810 in a picturesque manor house situated in the village Żelazowa Wola upon the river Utrata in Mazowieckie voivodship. Today, it houses a biographical museum of the famous Pole.
The manor house in Zelazowa Wola, where Chopin was born in 1810 is one of the main destinations for composer’s admirers from the whole world. Żelazowa Wola is the place where Fryderyk Chopin’s parents met, both working for the aristocratic family which owned the estate.
