The film makes this very apparent by showing the stupid lengths the neighbors go to to try and change their minds over something so small. For the Kranks, it's a bit absurd that they become so terrified of the neighbors and show a blatant hatred of christmas so suddenly.
Nov 23, 2004 · As a satire against neighborhood conformity, "Christmas With the Kranks" might have found a way to be entertaining. But no. The reasonable Kranks are pounded down by the neighbors, and then their daughter decides, after having been away only about two weeks, to fly home for Christmas with her new Peruvian fiance.
