The health and safety of campers are closely monitored. Camps have hot and cold running water, showers and flush toilets. Each camp is regularly inspected by local health departments. Smoke alarms are located in all living quarters.
Each camp has limited medical insurance on every camp with coverage only for certain accidents and illnesses. Pre-existing illnesses are not covered. Nov 7, 2010 · Anyway, to an extent these camp directors may be right; there are many non-accredited summer camps for kids here in L.A. that are very good camps. Just because a camp is not accredited doesn't mean it's not a great camp.
To the first point, I'm a big proponent of sending kids to accredited summer camps. Picking a non-accredited camp isn't necessarily bad or wrong. In fact there are many good non-accredited summer camps. But when you choose an accredited camp, you are guaranteed the camp meets certain safety (and other) standards non-accredited camps aren't held to.
