Godzilla vs. Megalon was released theatrically in Japan on March 17, 1973, it received generally mixed reviews from critics and audiences with criticism of its special effects and use of stock footage in previous Godzilla films.
Godzilla Vs. Megalon is a movie that, when viewed with any semblance of a critical lense, fails to be a "good" movie. The dialogue is laughable, the plot is hackneyed, and the acting is undeniably awful. But it's a hell of a fun time! I rewatched it a couple nights ago and had an absolute blast. It's a great movie to riff on with friends.
