Aug 4, 2008 · "Pineapple Express" has all the elements you'd expect from the genre: male bonding, immature sexual desires, verbal scatology, formidable drug abuse, fight scenes, gunfire, explosions. Yawn? Not this time.
Wildly funny and completely inappropriate, PINEAPPLE EXPRESS combines ribald, marijuana-fueled comedy with action and violence. Imagine a Cheech and Chong film directed by Quentin Tarantino, and you'll have a general idea of the feel of the film.

Re-watching Pineapple Express, which has just landed on Netflix and Amazon Prime, is still enjoyable despite all this, even if just to mark how far we’ve come. At 12 years old, having never even smoked weed, it seemed obvious that some change needed to come.
Pineapple Express is a comedy that could best be defined as having the combined styles of stoners Cheech and Chong and badass action guys Jackie Chan and Steven Seagal.
