  1. Worth the travel. We stayed in Athens prior to a cruise. We hired a driver to visit Nafplio. This Fortress of Palamidi was fantastic. It overlooks the Bourtzi Castle and the water is beautiful. It was fun to tour the fortress. There was a small entrance fee but well worth it.

  7. Palamidi Castle was very much worth a visit, if you have enough time to rest as necessary. I was there in the spring season so it was very sunny but not hot and that added to my enjoyment. You can take half a day at this location if you want to walk the steps and explore the whole hilltop. Bring drinks and snacks or lunch.
