Toksvig joined GBBOin 2017 when the series moved to Channel 4 from the BBC. She has hosted the baking competition alongside co-host Noel Fielding for three years and was brought in to replace original presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins.

The show usually airs in August but filming for series 11 was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, which temporarily shut down most TV and film productions. The Write Offs follows immediately after GBBO at 9.30pm on Channel 4.
