From the trailer it looks like it’s either an alternative reality (aka not canon) or prequel/sequel but very long time before/after AT (aka canon). My guess is that it’s prequel happening some years before the bomb exploded. Simon knew Fiona and Cake and that’s how he came up with Fiona and Cake fiction as Ice King many years later.
