On and after April 1, 2022 hikers continuing to Angels Landing from Scout Lookout are required to have a permit, obtained on recreation.gov. The strenuous, challenging trail follows a steep, narrow ridge with uneven steps cut into the rock and chains anchored intermittently along the route.

Jul 13, 2018 · Do you need permit to hike Angels Landing? Yes, starting on April 1, 2022, a permit will be required for all hikes from April 1, 2022, to February 28, 2023. This is a pilot program so NPS can evaluate the program for permanent implementation. Can you hike Angels Landing in February? Yes, but be aware of icy conditions.
Nov 1, 2020 · Both are true: Angels Landing is a stunning, adrenaline-inducing trail that requires some rigorous rock scrambling in very close proximity to 1,000-foot drop-offs. Needless to say, the Angels Landing hike is NOT for the faint of heart.
