This is an unpopular opinion, but I personally think Gary Ross did a much better job at portraying the Games than Francis Lawrence did. He truly captured how gritty the Games was and I prefer that he made you feel like you were in the Games yourself instead of a person in Panem watching it.

Mar 30, 2012 · You can’t really make a movie by worrying about the marketplace and I always felt the only way to realize this story was to make it as personal as I could. I also felt this couldn’t feel or look like other “franchises” without sacrificing the naturalism the story needed.
