Hart Plaza opened in 1975 and is named after the late senator Phillip Hart. It’s along the Detroit River and hosts an annual jazz festival and many concerts and festivals. It’s nice in the summer when they turn the donut shaped fountain on. Adjacent to the Joe Louis “fist” monument.
